Mercury: a most interesting and elusive subject.

This programme (radio) is about mercury, the element. Its runny, shimmery, poisonous, revelatory nature is quite fascinating to observe and listen about.

Years ago. yes I am that old. the electrical industry decided to come up with a silent electrical switch for home use. It used Mercury as it's conductor so when you through the switch electricity would flow through the Mercury thus turning on the light, appliance, etc. Was in use for a few years until it was classified as a hazardous material.
