Hi Sherlock, welcome to the forum.
Sticking around here is worth the time as it's a really great forum. The only annoying feature at the start is until you reach 50 posts there is a random 'moderation' which as you said swallows up random posts and they either disappear for good or appear a lot later. Try again and if not just post a load of rubbish in the 'word games' threads. It's worth it to get up to 50 posts
