Were you able to visit the underground city of Derinkuyu?
It's somewhere in Cappadocia, not sure where though. I'd love to go there.
Hi @
Bookworm. Yes. I did visit Derinkuyu.  To my mind it was not as intersting as some of the other places I visited. Don't go if you suffer from claustophobia though. It's very big and impressive what they were able to excavate but the passageways are small, sometimes people have to turn sideways to be able to pass each other and also, the ceilings are quite low in parts. I had hired a guide with a car to take me around and fortunately when we visited Derinkuyu, he had a torch to light the way.

Oh, I am a bit claustrophobic so that wouldn't be good for me. I'd probably grin and bear it though, just to see it. Try and go on a quiet day maybe. I think there's still much of the complex to be excavated. Id heard it's a big site.
You're quite a globe trotter. You've been to lots of interesting places!

I worked in tourism for many years and escorted groups of Americans so yes, I saw quite a lot of the world while I was working but most pf the photos I've posted have been of places where I have travelled to on my own account.
