June is Pride month and I thought I would say this. I think it is important that everyone understand no matter where you are, who you are, who you love, your orientation or identity that you should be proud of who you are and what you are and know that there's nothing wrong with how you are. The only thing that matters is the strength of your character. I think that's what pride is all about, simply embracing who you are, accepting yourself and owning it.
I do feel that it is often not loud enough for those in the back. It is difficult to embrace yourself just as it is difficult to love yourself at times. I've certainly struggled with it and frankly still do, but it is something everyone should hear and understand. Sometimes I forget that Gay Speak is a gay forum, it is for us.
