Darkness so deep,
A hope unfulfilled,
A hunger for simplicity,
Never to be stilled.

The endless maim of torture
Found within my soul;
An empty pit of nothingness,
A dark and mirthless hole.

We live this hateful life
And we fear death's embrace,
We strive so hard for happiness,
Yet fail at every race.

The human race should realise
The complicated scheme
To blind us to the truth:
That life is but a dream.

And so my course is thus:
Since I've realised my strife,
All I've left to do
Is to wake up from my life.
