UK churches performing 'exorcisms' on gays

On the question of religious faith I suppose we have to agree to differ, which is OK, as long as the religious do not use their “faith” as a justification to oppress minorities such as ourselves. But that is exactly what is happening with these exorcisms.

How am I or you, or anyone else on this forum, being oppressed by these exorcisms? They simply do not effect me. If they are performed on adults then the subject is free to subject themselves to exorcism or not. If they are performed on children (in the eyes of the law) then there is the question of whether it amounts to child abuse. I don't support what they do but I can't claim that they are oppressing me.
