Just a few lines

I don't write as a rule but thought I try, someone might like it?

We the few, wronged by the many.
Disowned by the one's we trust.
We stand together as brothers.

We have love, they have hate.
Our voices will be heard, they will not silence us.
We live to be free, with no bonds.

We will be strong, they will see we are right.
Courage and honor we have to fight the battle.
We will win this war, justice we be ours.

Any feedback would be helpful, if you think rubbish I won't be offended.

Hi Richard, I liked it, being a very big fan of the war poets I would say it was
very Wilfred Owen.
Kind wishes, Ben

Thanks Ben.
I wasn't aware my poem was like a Wilfred Owen poem, on checking out some of his poems, I was pleased that we share some style. He was a poet in WW1, died in the last days of the war. Very sad that he didn't make it through the war, a great poet.

I will try a write some more, if people like my attempt at poetry.

As requested, here is another one.

The World I Want

I yearn to live in a world, free from hate
No more anger, jealousy and resentment
Just a world full of compassion, tolerance and goodwill

I yearn to live in a world, free from war
No more violence, destruction and genocide
Just a world full of love, life and peace

I yearn to live in a world, free from poverty
No more want, need and suffering
Just a world full of plenty, charity and harmony

I yearn to live in a world, free from oppression
No more tyrants, betrayal and injustice
Just a world full of equality, dignity and honesty

This world I yearn for, will never exist
Because of Man, the destroyer of worlds

Freedom

To the people its a dream
A reality which can not exist

To politicans its only a word
Often used but never true

To religion you are slaves
The master calls and you come

To other free men you are a brother
A bond that will last forever

To me its my very soul
Take it away and I will die

Love

Love knows no boundaries
Nor understands man's laws or religion

Love sets no conditions
Nor any exceptions to age or colour

Love will seek you even if you hide
Nor any man or women are spared

Love has many trials to conquer
Nor will it yield until the end

Is it the ego that makes man the destroyer? It seems most want peace but those many dont seem to matter Baby2
