Donna Summer was NOT a despicable person.

Many likely remember the history of much of the gay community turning away from Donna Summer over the rumor she had attributed the AIDS epidemic as a punishment from God for homosexuality. Some still think and feel of her negatively because of the rumor. I have a long-time friend who recently posted what a despicable person Donna Summer was while sharing her performance as a back-up singer with Brooklyn Dreams on their cut of Heaven Knows. Now I'm feeling hurt and estranged because he's meant a great deal to me and is far more intelligent than to hold on to the idea that she was despicable despite her refuting the rumor over and over for several years. It's was a very unfortunate occurrence and the offense remains! I'm venting here because I'm isolated for the moment.
