I really hate dragonflies. They're so big and freaky-looking and the way they move and fly is so creepy... Even though they're harmless, the thought of one touching me makes my skin crawl.

They don't bother me at all. When I was a kid I used to catch the things with my bare hands Smile sometimes after catching I'd just let them sit on a finger til they flew away LOL

They do move/fly weird ... personally I think they look like little helicopters when flying LOL

Yeah, I've never encountered anyone else with a particular hatred of dragonflies. It's not a common fear to have. In fact from what I've been told I used to try to catch them or play with them when I was very young. Not sure when I started to hate them...I've learned to ignore them for the most part, but I still get a bit tense if they come too close. Any fear I have is anchored by a sort of obsession about them that I developed over time because of the torment I let them give me. Icon16

One of my exs ran into busy traffic when a cloud of dragonflies flew up onto the pavement. It is pretty unusual. We had a lot of problems after that because it was dragonfly season here...

I can deff understand it tho Smile they are weird bugs LOL and some of 'em get kinda big (I can say that even though they don't bother me I wouldn't one to just come land on me unexpectedly )

Just a couple days ago I heard a couple people talking about a friend of theirs that was totally afraid of butterflys...that one of any type of bug surprised me, I've never heard of a guy (or anyone really) being afraid of a butterfly. LOL i guess it is still just a bug

never seen a cloud of dragonflies  (here you might see one or two at a time they're not too common) but a bunch, that might be a little scary LOL although not nearly as much as busy traffic

My phobia is is people using sharp things...knives, razors etc...i cannot handle it and it makes my skin crawl just merely watching some slice a sandwich. YET I can use knives and razors without any drama.

Snakes and spiders can crawl over me all day long, but someone with a knife in the kitchen makes me run.

Acrophobia, arachnophobia, trypophobia, and caligynephobia.

Okay, not really the last one, but it's funny!
