You know this type of music (Classical) has always eluded me. I feel quite stupid when listening to this type of music. I do not know how to appreciate, or understand this music. Would I have to be able to play an instrument, or learn how to read this type of music to get it? But I do enjoy Ennio Morricone!
You do not have to play an instrument or read music to enjoy music, I trend to listen to classical music when I do any paperwork or just chilling out during the evenings. Can be very relaxing if you select the right composer, try playing some Bach or Mozart to start with, then move on to some other composers. You will find as with any other type of music or the artist, some you like some not. Just listen and enjoy the music.

No, you don't have to be able to play an instrument and you don't have to be able to "understand", although my formal music training helps me to enjoy music on many levels. I can hear with my ears only, or listen with my mind and intellect, my imagination, my emotions and my whole body.
If you enjoy Ennio Moricone you may enjoy other film composers too. Have a listen to the music people have posted in this thread. You may find something else you like. If you do, let us know
