Rage against bad individuals in the LBGT community
#51
Yes I was gone because I didn't have internet access for about three months but as far as this experience goes I learned a lot more about human nature and its pretty sad and depressing especially the youth today. Remember this was my very first experience all the way around! I did expect going in to it that my life would turn out better from it but my life only got worse as a result simply because he only cared about his own feelings instead of being more considerate other the persons feelings and I was the only one cared and was selfless I was extremely friendly and helpful and it meant nothing to him in the end! That is someone that the gay community should single out and expose them for their filthy personality and have them exiled from all gay community activities we cannot afford to have one person with a poor personality and no sense of right and wrong representing us in the public eye bringing us down to a far less than exceptable standard of recognition! We are already looked at in a judgmental and negative light why make it worst by allowing someone to not take responsibility for their wrong actions?

I can't help wondering if it's a mistake to talk about "the gay community" rather than gay communities. We wouldn't expect straight people to act as a single community. Gays are as diverse as any other group of people. I daresay there a many gays who wouldn't want my company Wink I'm just glad there are a few who do!

You did say this person was an escort...eh? That is prostitution and the fact that you had a bad experience with a prostitute basically puts you at the end of a VERY LONG LINE of people...both straight and gay...who have also had BAD EXPERIENCES with a prostitute. BTW...I can promise you that this person does not represent anyone but himself....it is a tad insulting to say a prostitute with a "bad personality" somehow represents the gay community...maybe I am missing something? (hopefully I am missing somethingWink)

How else would you like me to explain it? ..... lets try examples; A group a Jews walk inside a store to buy something together all but one picks up what they need and buys it at register the one in the group puts his items in his pockets and tries to walk with it among his Jewish friends this is seen by other people and is caught on camera the cops are called and because the one Jew did not admit that he stole and his Jewish Brothers were guilty by association the police took all to them to jail for the actions of one person in that group! The people who witnessed this made statements to the news media about how Jews steal where ever they go and that built a stigma in that store as well as the that neighborhood! The next Jewish person who walked in the store was scrutinized and demonized as a criminal but he happens to be the most honest person who is recognized as Jewish therefore will be treated negatively based on the actions of another Jew who not only represents himself but his entire family, community and his entire nationality! I hope that makes it clear! This is basic sociology and ethics: The actions of one can make it bad for an entire group!

The person who makes the judgements about an entire group of people or race is reflecting on himself and says absolutely nothing about the group of people he/she is referring to. It is a reflection of the person who makes the judgement and nothing else.

In your example...I would wonder why the person was telling me the thief was Jewish as it has nothing to do with the theft and if he/she elaborated I would assume they are anti semite...or the person who thought one gay prostitute has anything to do with all gay people a homophobe.

Perhaps there is a geographical or cultural difference in how we view things?. I realize that SOME people make judgements about an entire group of people but in my world...it is the person who makes these judgements that is the problem..not the people he is talking about.

You are correct but you must also add the element of what is truly wrong or "sinful" or evil! Case in point Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer and Andrew Phillip Cunanan who are know as GAY serial killers who are appeared to kind and friendly but were highly deceptive! When society thinks of a Gay people do we want these guys to come to mind first or do want them to automatically think of someone like Elton John, Niel Patrick Harris or Clay Aiken. Do want Gay to be represented by or associated with Killing, Stealing, Lying and Illegal Drugs and Prostitution or do we want Gay to be represented by or associated with Good Samaritans, Humanitarianism, Honesty, Peacefulness and Loving acts? Another way of looking at this is African American Profiling that steams form a main stream thought that has been generated and produced by other Afro Americans who commit crimes which in turn gives birth to a very harmful stereotype that all blacks are criminals and should be scrutinized based on race alone! I want my sexuality to viewed in a positive light not in a dark and negative view that has been perpetrated by others sharing the same sexual orientation as mine!

I prefer to be seen as an individual that is many things...gay is one of them. If someone would associate me with the acts of another gay person and surmise that we ALL behaved in a certain way...I would dismiss them because I don't like to be in the company of ignorant people and I certainly have no desire to change their minds by modifying my behavoir nor suggesting anyone else modify their behavoir. Maybe a better person than myself would engage one of these people and try to get them to "see the light" and more power to them if they choose to do this...I personally don't like to teach pigs to sing...it a waste of time and annoys the pig.

I understand your point but I maintain my position that judging an entire group of people by the actions of a few is pure ignorance ...and most likely racist, homophobic,...ect ect.

I agree I wish that all people would do the right thing at least just for the respect sake of others! You know we all live on this earth together and not by ourselves. Human nature has always had inner conflicts with social identity and tons of laws and police has effort has been added to control it and prevent it but only minimizes it. Society can be effected by one individual action or decision it sets the tone regardless of what you and I think individually
is best to do what is right for myself or everybody else Ethical and Moral delimas Society has created for us. Do I steal the loaf of bread and chicken to feed my family or wait until I get a job and prey my family don't starve to death. Not every one is mindful of how their actions effect others case in point theft cause the rise in prices in stores, so many suffer because of the actions of a few!

People's capacity for ignorance sets the tone for everything...It always has.
