Its hard for me to find a partner
#1
I'm still a teenage boy who goes to high school in Australia. I want to find that special person in my life, but the thing that makes it hard is that not all gays are open about their sexuality. Even though I'm out of the closet to my friends and the school, I wouldn't know who to socialize with and stuff so that I can develop a relationship with them.

I know there would be other places better than school where I am more likely to find a partner, but since I'm still young, my parents still won't let me go out and stuff like that, so I'm thinking maybe just waiting it out to see what happens in the future..
I don't mind dating sites, but I don't really trust them since..well...you know...its the internet...anybody can be anyone..

I don't expect everybody to agree, but I think a huge majority of gays are still closed about their sexuality because they fear of being judged.

By the way, I live in Sydney, Australia, so my opinion is based on my experiences from here. So yeah, I just wanted to voice my opinion.
Thanks for listening/reading Rolleyes

Harrow. Its even harder in NZ. But you just got to keep looking. Thats what I'm doing. I hoping the guy I like will come out soon. Or I just have a crush on a straight guy who seems a little on the gay side. But at our age I find its not a must on my todo list but eventually I'll get me a boy.

I can understand the difficulties you would have at school, not easy i'm sure. If you are struggling to make acquaintances try joining a community club where i'm sure you'll find like minded guys like yourself! Or a sports club or gym. I'm a tennis player and go to the gym! These are great ways to get away from school life and be able to express yourself in a more friendly approachable environment. Craig Adelaide

Good luck with finding someone special. Pairing up can be a bit of a distraction at school, but a person could always do with a few friends. I agree that finding some fun in doing what you enjoy is a good way forward. I am by no means an actor, but a recent work project brought me into contact with a community drama group that seemed to be swimming with gays Wink

Definately look at sport or interest groups...

Socialising in the real world is the healthiest and most reliable way to meet anyone.. DON'T waste your youth sitting behind a computer looking for people to meet...

Now... Get out there and live your life...Invasion

Patience is a virtue. Meaning everything comes in it's time. Enjoy your new life out in the open awhile, test the water so to speak. I know it's hard being out where it's not so....common being from the south n all. Try not to focus so much on who's out and whose in the closet because it will only make you feel like your on the outside looking in. Focus more on yourself and your interest, and try to make more friends gay or straight. When people like you more for who you are your bound to run into someone and find out something about them you didn't know if you get what I'mma sayin. This could maybe make you seem a bit more available or looking without seeming desperate or anything. Hope this helps.
