Ohhh of course The Devil Wears Prada.
She's fantastic in 'Angels in America', playing:
  • A humorous old yiddish Rabbi
  • A strict, breaking mormon mother (lesbian overtones)
  • Ethel Rosenberg (of course)
  • A stressed out angel clerk.
And she was fantastic in each role. MERYL STREEP!!

You are, Wilem, of course, quite right there too... Angels in America is quite striking. I've seen Meryl in all sorts of roles and films. Have you, by any chance, seen SILKWOOD in which she plays a Lesbian, if I am not mistaken with Cher. Or even Sophie's Choice, much acclaimed...

The album came out at 00.01 and I bought it at 00.03 on iTunes! It's totally amazing although the singers aren't exactly brilliant, they're okay and are largely better than all of the cast recordings. Pierce's voice isn't exactly brilliant either, infact is kind or poor but it's still a great CD. All day at college I've been singing 'If you change your mind'

So do you think that it is even better than the version I bought when I saw it in Canada 7-8 years ago? I think it would still be difficult to top the original singers, Agnetha and Frieda.
I'm wondering which casts you are comparing this recording with. ??

Well normally, if the plot follows that of the stage productions, it's about this girl who wants to get married and she wants to invite her dad to the wedding but her mother has never told her who her dad was and now the mother needs to see which of three men she was flirting with at the time could be the father... It raises issues about paternity and genetics and atavistic traits... as well as it revives a long lost love...
