Hey Everyone!
#1
Hi, my name is Chris and obviously I am new here!

I found this site through a google search and figured I would join up. I am no stranger to online forums but I have a feeling this one is going to be a new experience.

I am 20 years old and live in a small town of less than 2500 people in Minnesota, so I have never really been exposed to the "gay scene" so to speak. I am only out to a few people though most of those people have not been told by my choice (a friend takes it upon himself to tell whomever HE thinks should know...). I am very shy and very inexperienced. I have issues with anxiety and depression and they have really held me back I think. I have very few friends and only one that I am remotely close to.

My main interest is cars, anything to do with cars. I am a member of quite a few car forums. My life really revolves around cars. I am currently going to school to be an auto mechanic, and will likely be going back for auomotive collision repair as well. A few of my other interests include video games, anime, and music.

As I am sure you have figured my situation is a bit unique, as are most I suppose, and presents some challenges for me. A gay person in this field would not be well accepted.

Anyway I hope to have a good stay here and gain some new friends!

Hi Chris, and welcome to Gay Speak.

Auto Mechanics is an exciting field to be in these days. I must have spent most my free time under the hood when I was young, always tweaking or rebuilding my beloved Alfa Romeo's. That was back in the 70's when cars were much simpler to work on and there were no computers hidden under the dash (smile). I'm totally lost nowadays, to much technology for me to grasp.

Being shy isn't a bad thing, in fact, many guys find it to be a very attractive asset when they are looking for a relationship.

I lived in a small community in Vermont several years back, and I think everyone knew my mate and I were gay even though we kept quiet about it. Gossip gets around fast in a small town, and their curiosity is peaked when they think they've discovered one of your secrets (hehehe). I loved living there but grew weary of all the inquiring questions people asked about my private life, it seemed they wouldn't be satisfied until I gave them a complete accounting of my whole life history - starting at birth!!!!. It was great fun and I still giggle thinking about all the dinner table discussions that must have gone on about my mate and I who were their neighbors for a few years.

My Best,

Jim Clark
