Job interview!!!

Ah wow, how wrong i was.
Just got phoned up and i didn't get the job. Grrrrrrrreat....

Did you ask for any further feedback on why you were overlooked?

Yeah it was really weird.

He said some of the answers i gave were really very good.
He said sometimes he felt like he had to probe too much to find out the information he wanted, but when i did give him the information it was good...

Now that doesn't really make all that much sense to me, surely if the answers were good and what you wanted then how you found them out is immaterial?

I dunno. The job was for PricewaterhouseCoopers for a trainee accountant job. I guess they're so big they can be so picky about who they choose that they can dismiss anyone who isn't word perfect. Not great for confidence though, but really thanks a lot for your kind words everyone.

I think i'm going to change position and apply to some of the smaller more local accountancy firms now. Something about the massive firm culture gets my back up a bit, and especially after this experience, i want to work somewhere where they are interested in me as a person as well as as a workrer, not just wanting the best of the best of the best, regardless of the person.

A friend of mine works for PWC, it has a huge global corporate culture. He loves it, but he would readily admit it's not everyone's cup of tea.
