Gay Prisoners vs Inmates
#11
Some gay men choose to stay in the closet to prevent such things from happening to them. Many openly gay prisoners in the United States are actually put amongst their own (Gays with gays). I know this isn't always the case though, especially in the Bible Belt where they just don't give a damn. It's sad that this does indeed go on in reality, it's not hype by the media.

Prison is dehumanizing and I agree that broadening the death sentence would be a kind judgement.

well, i'm not up for death penalty either. i just want the police officials to be more humane in dealing with prisoners especially on matters like these.. it's never justifiable for any inmate to go thru the hardship of being sexually abused just because he's a criminal himself. A crime can't be solved by another crime... it is indeed very sad.

I whole heartedly agree with The Virgin. It's still sad what happens though. It's a harsh reality. I have to stop and wonder if the heterosexual sex starved inmates think the gays simply want to get it at all times and by anyone. Seems that way in the general public how all the ugly guys back up against the wall.

i wonder how should gay prisoners act inside the prison. should they retain their colorful nature or act straight so that no-one would dare think that they're soft and easy to prey on?

stephanie stephens Wrote:I was in prison for three years and I never let on that I was bisexual. I have always been uncomfortable showering with other guys, not because I had any embarrassment about my body, but because I was afraid that I would get an erection or that I would get clocked staring at another man's penis. My cell door window looked directly down on the shower room and at certain times my little window was my favorite place to be. I remember one time I happened on this gay man who was being mounted and I understood that it was mutual because he looked up at me and smiled a smile one knew meant Roflmao. I was so jealous. But, I never let on. A couple of weeks after that he was rapped by three guys in a stair well.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not a criminal. The circumstances behind my conviction were beyond my control. Anyway, I never let on that I was gay or bi. I found it easer for me to be a tough guy (story of my life). Gays that act feminine or let it be known, in some way or another, get rapped or get a boy friend for protection.

stephanie, is it true that white inmates are the one's who are always attacked by black inmates? that's what i've read. white guys are almost always the victim and black guys are the attackers....

No, not true. At least not to my knowledge, bear in mind that it was 30 + years ago.
