Thank you Matty for your kind words.

A quick surf of wikipedia leads me to suspect Californian Domestic Partnerships can will be recognised in the UK. I suggest visiting your local registry office and formally asking, I dare say you may have to wait while they check, but you will have a definite answer.

A separate but important question is whether as non-resident non-citizens you are eligible to enter into domestic partnership? I have no idea as to the answer to that.

Thanks to everyone for the comments.............

We have been talking and have decided to look at Canada.....

We just need to pick where in Canada, we like the whole Lake Mountain look but it needs to be easy to get to with 8 guests and have something for everyone else to do!

Lake Louise is lovely .....but what are your views on Whistler?

Found aLodge called Nita Lake lodge...looks nice but not sure if it will have enough background Mountain for the wedding pictures!!!!

HELP...................

I've never been to Whistler, but its suppose to be really nice. The choice is yours, pick a place that you think will be special.

I once passed through Whistler, it was perfectly nice and an excellent ski-resort, however it didn't exactly strike me as charming.
