Lately I have been listening to The Big 3 quite a lot.
Cass Elliot is simply incredible and I think it's sad that she stopped singing folk after her breakthrough.
Young Girl's Lament is probably their most powerful song. Honestly, I don't think I have ever heard any other song that matches the power and emotion of this performance.



I also love The Banjo Song. It's heavy ,rough, groovy and simple at heart. I think it has a punk-ish vibe. I'd headband to that if it heard it in a show.



Anna Fia is another favorite of mine and has amazing lyrics, but I couldn't find it on youtube.

While I'm at it - DaGamba is also amazing. They combine classic and contemporary music. Yeah, has been done before loads of times, but these guys have a much more expressive style than most cross-over bands. Another thing i like about them is that they build their songs up to a culmination, rather than playing with the same intensity throughout.


This starts off the usual way, but then diverges. The piano guy is sooooo into it.
