Absolutely! I'm trying to get hold of some sessions he did whilst Sparks were trying to get him to join them in the 70s. Apparently they are stunning.

One of my favourite musicians in the early seventies was Michael Chapman (and he's still touring). Before Mick Ronson became a Spider From Mars he was in Michael Chapman's band. I couldn't find anything from MC's second album, Fully Qualified Survivor (sadly the album seems to be a casualty of my change of circumstances a few years ago), but this might give you an idea of what Michael Chapman does. Just imagine Mick Ronson playing a crunching solo over this

Incidentally, I don't suppose you're going to any of the Mott the Hoople shows in London this (5-day) weekend? I was invited to a special Mick Ronson event on Saturday afternoon to tie in with the reunion, by some American friends who are coming over specially for all the shows, but my own band is working on Saturday so I shan't be able to go.

I've only ever heard good things about him from people who knew him too. Sure he had his problems, but to die at the age of 46 from cancer was very sad.
