What music are you listening to?

Anyone recognise Karl Jenkins (yes, that one Wink ) on keys, soprano sax and oboe?

I have to giggle to myself when I see an aging pop star keeping "The Look" they had 50 years ago... Then I realized that there are a few porn stars that have such a sellable image that they also must keep "The Look" no matter what... Then I thought about the amazing gaga and how no matter what she changes her look but her music seems pretty manufactured Rolleyes

yeppers rsconceptions, dont matter what a musician appears as when they produce amazing music...

Pablogeebee - that is a fantastic photo youre using as your avatar. Is it your passport photo?

I know next to nothing about Snow Patrol, but the music of that song is pretty near perfect - beautiful melodies, harmonies, pace and feel. Maybe that contrast with the desperate lyrics and the sickeningly dark video means the end of the world really is nigh :frown: Is this really what drives you young folk these days? This juxtaposition of sound and image is almost irresponsibly dangerous. There is nothing romantic in suicide. Please someone tell me I've got this all wrong!

In the meantime I feel driven to listen to Brian Eno and John Cale's Spinning Away (which uses similar musical ideas) before I go back to Run and have another listen.

What is it with the some of the "older folk's" tendency to lump all "young folk" together. No we are not all depressive and suicidal.

No, I am in fact driven, mostly, by happy music. Hence I have a playlist on myTunes and myPod of purely happy songs. As well as a playlist for Cheesy music, one for songs that have dance routines such as the Macarena, and one for Summery music.
