What makes a bad blowjob good and what makes a good blowjob excellent?

I have been wondering for quite a while now. Some time ago I hat this one bf and we got to the point where i was giving him a bj and it worked out very well. I think it was because I loved him and he loved me and I was just trying to give my best, as cheesy as it sounds. I would tend to say, try different things, different speeds, different strokes, on different parts of the penis and the zone, and especially be aware of how his body reacts. Does his breath grow shorter? Does he sigh? Does he squirm? Does his erection become stronger? Does he try to thrust?
