Wow.....I'd never heard of it! All those years on the boards and never a mention. Then last night on "Dancing with the Stars" (yes, I AM embarrassed) I heard it again.

Funny that a holiday started about someone trying to blow up the goverment. Maybe we could take a lesson from that. Would make the lines and the stocking feet at the airports a bit easier ;-)

Incidentally, if you want to learn more about Guy Fawke's Night, you should watch V for Vendetta - it's a recent movie as you probs know, but it's really quite good ... it was done by the guys that did the Matrix I believe ...

I hope you guys were responsible with your fireworks last night.Tomorrow's my day off & in the morning I'm volunteering at the SPCA to help with the displaced animals.*feels good*

I did actually feel really quite sorry for the squirrels, as we set ours off in our back garden and there are LOADS of squirrels and other animals that live in the woodland, but fortunately there were no issues ... they all took to the fireworks really well, and by the end of the festivities, they were writing their names with little sparklers and it was just [email=KICK@SS]KICK@SS[/email] ...

On a serious note... I do feel sorry for the animals that get disturbed, scared etc... its probably one of the most stressful times of the year for them.

Especially down here.Coming up this weekend is Diwali (the Indian festival of lights).I know it's not good news for the fury guys but I can't wait!The fireworks,the exotic Indian cuisine,beautiful Indian women & general Bollywood overload.I just love the Indian community of SA!

I believe the character "V" is babe, but it was more for the historical Guy Fawkes references that I meant it ...

... or did you think they were a part of the comic book ? Fair play it would be the best comic EVER if they'd invented it for that :biggrin:.

New Years resolution : adopt a dog.What I saw today was tragic.With me as it's owner,it's bound to require therapy for life though.
