'wear purple day' 2011?

Hi, does anyone know when is 'wear purple day' for 2011? I tried searching online, but couldn't find a definite answer. I know it was October 20 last year - is it gonna be the same date every year? Thanks, Greg

i blieve the wear purple day is the remeber those teenagers that have commited suicide for being beaten for being gay or driven to suicide for being hopeless in the closet. I usually get an invite from other Friends via fb when this day comes around. I believe its in october though.

I knew exactly what you were talking about, and was wondering the same thing (when it was this year)! I didn't really have anything purpley last year to wear, but I've discovered something since then: I look awesome in purple! Never realized it before. (Sorry, not trying to take anything away from the teens/young adults who were lost to homophobia by being this facetious, just sayin'!). I'll wear my purple proudly this year.
