I'm sure I mentioned this in a thread before the date, but should anyone be interested all the speeches at the rally in London on Saturday are online at
http://poddelusion.co.uk/blog/2011/09/17...ope-march/
This is the front of the march. Several hundred more of us were behind them.
As you can see ...
(I stole the above pictures from the British Humanist Association Facebook page ... the one below was taken with my phone). After we eventually dispersed and reconvened in a nearby pub the sky opened and it poured. Had there been a god I am sure he would have rained on us rather than on the other parade that came down Whitehall from Trafalgar Square after we'd finished.
The speakers were:
Terry Sanderson - National Secular Society (2:15),
Andrew Copson - British Humanist Association (6:45),
Sara Passmore – BHA (11 :22),
Peter Tatchell - Human rights campaigner (12:35),
Sue Cox - clerical abuse survivor (17:05 & 58:06),
Maryam Namazie – One Law For All Campaign (20:50),
David Pollock – European Humanist Federation (29:40),
Maria Antonietta Coscioni - Italian Radical Party (36:50),
Adam Knowles - Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (44:00),
Massimo Redaelli - Italian Humanist Federation (47:50),
Annie Sugier - League of Women's International Rights (50:00),
Richy Thompson - BHA Faith Schools and Education Campaigns (53:00 & 55:00),
Jenny Bartle - The National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular Student Societies (53:30),
Keith Porteous Wood - NSS (58:58)
If you are tight for time I would particularly recommend David Pollock, Maryam Namazie and, of course, Peter Tatchell.
Here's our little group are before we joined the rest of the march ...
