Hello and welcome Smile

Holst is a great choice of composer Wink

While I grew up listening to The Planets it was later that I got to know his folk music arrangements, most of which I enjoy very much. I've sung a lot of his choral music and it was his compositions for military band that made me stop and listen to military band music. I often come back to the First Suite. I find the Chaconne in the first movement very moving, even when played by some pretty awful bands - that is definitely a sign of great composition. I'm pretty certain I have met his daughter, Imogen, very briefly at a festival in the 1970s and I seem to remember she was an adjudicator at a music festival I sang in when I was at school in the 1960s.

HAHA VERY COOL, the first suite is by far my top pick for pieces, I'm currently in the RNZNB (Royal New Zealand Navy Band) haha 3rd clarinet sadly. BUT i think i will be moving up to 2nd Chair ANY DAY now. it is an amazing thing to be apart of. haha

no particular place really lol- its always been a dream to visit there once before i die. its a very beautiful and vast place.
