A new dream thread.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but I don't feel like sifting through 100 plus pages to find out

Is there any significance to frequent lucid dreaming, or the ability to induce one after falling asleep? Both apply to me. Occasionally it will just 'happen', but very often times I can feel myself 'force' a dream to become lucid and it's quite a fascinating experience for me. I remember things such as teaching myself to fly in dreams, that happened around the 7th grade though I did not get a hang of it until high school, and now when I dream lucidly I am a skilled flyer. Also, when I have such dreams there are places that recur very frequently, though these places also recur when I am in a normal dream state. I hope this post makes sense but I've always wondered about this sort of dream.

dlboy53 Wrote:Well this was an interesting dream to me one because it is the first one in a long time that I remember after waking up. so on with the dream

Well It starts out with 19 guys and myself looking for something. I am going to say office space but then again how i describe it does not make scenes for office space. The place consist of 3 levels of a building each space is unquestionably designed with different textures, lights, glass, paint and what not.no two spaces looked alike but all had some kind of kitchen features not necessarily a full kitchen. Each had a bathroom of some fashion and a deck. I'm not sure if there is a full kitchen which I think there was one in the center of one of the floors and in the center of one of the other floors there was a lounge area where we all meet and discussed if we could afford it plus 2 chefs. We all agreed that it was well within our budget. Then we talk how we where going to be an unstoppable team. Plus we are all dressed in very expensive suits which leads me to believe that we are people of power or some kind of executives of some sort.

The whole set up seems to me be set up to where we spend way to much time at the office to have some kind of kitchen with 2 chefs and as far as the dream went there was no way that it could be a place to live either or at this point there was no signs of that.

Wow. Ok...

Short dream, but pretty intense.

The number 20 (19 guys + you): Why were there 20 of you? Right now, I'm going with the idea that these guys were all slices of you (the Shadow Figure again, but in MULTIPLICITY). To be honest, this is kind of a *negative* symbol to me. I would have preferred to seen your Shadow Self as one particular individual (your unconscious self trying to communicate to your conscious mind some idea). But the fact there are so MANY really seems (to me) pretty fractured. I researched the Number 20 but I can't find anything that really relates to your dream (Mayan month has 20 days; area of land needed to grow enough corn to feed one man is 20 sq ft; Hopi Indians name their children 20 days after birth). Maybe you can help me with why there are 19 other guys plus you.

The Building Itself: Lots of ambiguity here. It's not exactly an office space, but not exactly suitable for living either. Perhaps you noticed when I respond to other members that I often say when we dream of our homes that is symbolic of our "inner self". Well, this place is not exactly a place for work or for living. It seems to be a space meant for BOTH, but doesn't accommodate either very well.

Well Dressed, High Powered Men Living Together: Pretty powerful synergy here, you all agree you can "afford" it but again, how suitable is it for work and/or living space?

Two Chefs: One chef for 10 guys? Or one chef in the morning and one at night? Either way, the Number Two is one of "confrontation" (Night/Day, Good/Evil, Up/Down, Yin/Yang, etc). The two chefs will either battle or be in balance. Another team perhaps, like the 20 well dressed high power executives, just 1/10th the size...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

All in all, I'm getting a real *ambiguous* or *fractured* feel from this dream. I don't know you very well (I've read some of your posts about dating etc). Just wondering if you're feeling kind of torn between work and home life?

Thanks for sharing your dream.

#1 There was a large rabbit (around that of a medium sized dog) that lived in my backyard...Don't remember if it was a pet, or a wild one that was allowed to live there. In the earlier part of the dream It lived in sortof a hill/mound of dirt (I'd hollowed out the inside), later on it was living in something similar to a doghouse.

#2 I had modified some strings of xmas lights & was testing them...something wasn't quite right as they were running much too hot...

Just started to dig into the rabbit dream, but I gotta head out soon.

As an appetizer, the rabbit is a nocturnal creature associated with the moon (female, cool, passive)--opposed to the sun (male, hot, active).

Maybe we can both continue "stewing" the rabbit for a bit, I'll be back.

Wow, it just sounds to me like you've been given a gift.

I don't know if there's any "significance" per se, you just seem very lucky to have that ability.

The fact that your dreams do feature some "recurring themes" would suggest that you have some unresolved issues in your life that your unconscious mind is still working on.

It would be a wonderful thing if you could use your talent for lucid dreaming to work on those issues.

I'm jealous.

well I would say that the 19 plus myself could be the parts of me which would make sense due to the fact that I have interest in just about everything. I consider myself a person that is a jack of all things but master at none, I am also surprised that there is a native perspective, because I am part native as well

Well not sure what to make of this but that a lot of color where used and it was very appealing to me did forget to say that one room was unfinished and it was still cover in plastic, but the only part I do remember was going into the room but it was full of steam and running water coming out of what I think where cappuccino machine? of course I had to wake up at that point because of the running water lol but was able to go back to the dream again after wards which is rare for me to do.

this one was a bit vag for me because I could not be sure if it was 2 chefs for all of us or 2 chefs each at first I thought it was 2 chefs each but when I first posted this I thought that could not be right
thanks for you insights

right now there seems to be no stability in either so not sure that I would be torn between the 2 or not, not sure if this helps any, but any other questions just ask it might trigger something
Thanks for sharing your dream.

Must ask, does infinite looping dreams and dreaming a dream many times normal and resemble something?

I'm no expert, but it seems normal to me.

"Normal" in the sense that your unconscious mind is "stuck" on a problem and will keep "bringing it up" to you (your conscious mind) through the dream.

Until you address the "problem" (whatever your mind is fixated on) the dream will continue in a "loop" or "repeat".

It's like an irritation on your skin. You'll keep scratching it (and maybe not even notice you're doing it) until the rash goes away.

I totally agree with LateBloomer here Smile

There was a time a number of years ago when occasionally I'd have lucid dreams & could sometimes recognize a dream & make it go lucid Big Grin ... I loved that stuff, but it took practice & lots of extra sleep (wish I could still do it, but just don't get enough sleep anymore)
One thing I will say is...there is nothing better than the feeling a lucid dream gives (even though that 'feeling' happens while you're sleeping)

So, as I said above: the rabbit is nocturnal (and therefore associated with the moon). You don't know if it's a pet or not, but you did hollow out a living space for it at first, and then later it actually has its own "house" (sort of).

Could this be another version of those dreams where you admire the work being done on the house of someone else? Except this time, you weren't watching, you actually did the work yourself. In real life, do you have pets? Desire pets? Maybe you're searching for something "nocturnal", kind of cool and passive, like you? Perhaps?

As for the Christmas lights, I'm totally stumped.

Smile

Except, if I stick with the home improvement theme we've been talking about, it might be a stretch to say that you working on hanging lights on your house is an improvement, in a way (???).

The fact there is a glitch in the wiring is troublesome, but I find the contrast between the heat of the wiring and the "cool" symbolism of the rabbit interesting.

You can take care of "cool",
But problems cause "heat".

I don't know!!! I'm just thinking out loud. What do you think?

Glad to hear this part struck a chord with you. Definitely sounds like you're being pulled in 20 different directions maybe.

Ok, this is cool. For me, water is a very powerful symbol because it can change "states" (vapor/steam --> liquid/water --> solid/ice). All this is happening in an "unfinished" room, so I'm feeling LOTS of changes (physically with the structure and chemically with the water).

Again, there's a lot of ambiguity here. I'm just guessing that's a reflection of your waking life. I hope things get a little more focused for you in the future if that's what you'd like.

Your comments were helpful for me to understand your dream better. One thing I forgot to mention was the three floors of the office/living space. The Number Three is a very powerful number. There's a ton of stuff associated with it so it might help me to narrow things down if you could think of a reason why the building was three floors.

Some ideas about The Number Three:

--Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)
--Great Triad (Man, Earth, God)
--Time: Past, Present, Future
--Universe: Earth, Atmosphere, Sky
--Three Wise Men visited Christ
--Christ was King, Priest, Prophet
--Virtues: Faith, Hope, Charity
--Greek mythology, 3 Brothers Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Lords of Earth/Heaven, Sea and the Underworld respectively
--Simplest graphic form: triangle
--Every action requires a subject, verb and object
