Age Ranges
#11
I'd like to think that age is not the main consideration, but there are a lot of coincidental attractions that seem to come into play with someone of a similar age. PA and I are only four years apart, but we enjoy very different popular cultural reference points. For example, some of the music that meant the most to me when I was growing up is often only known to him because his older brother used to play it.

Being closer in age does mean that all the crap associated with ageing hits you both at the same time. We are both really hoping for a kinder 2012.

Isn't there that unwritten rule of "Half your age + 7" or something? eitherway, your both adults, so don't think about the age, just go for it if you feel its for the best :3

give it some time mr panic attack and see some good in all situations. a date turned hookup, not ideal, but you dont know where the experience takes you. the gay community is small and you dont know who they know.

not driving is a limit. in the case of the 19year old its a good thing but you need to consider gays close in your area. you dont want to rip up your life for a boyfriend. i find people that dont drive have a different view on things too, all good tho.

just thinking he is trying to find himself, something you cant do for him.

your are worried about age when there are many factors that play into it.
the ideal age is someone 5-10years younger, close enough to have things in common, young enough to take care of things if they fail, maybe push you in a new direction. you asked so there it is..
online sites, some you can restrict who you are interested in age wise. set this plus minus 10years?

if you drove; the 19year old (make sure he's 19), everyone would learn a lot and you could gain a close friend.

if you want a room mate the personal trainer would work and you would have possibly the best work out partner possible.

I once dated someone 12 years older than me, which didn't seem like much. Looking back, I could see the age difference added to stress between us. We had different mind sets and outlooks, and different things to look forward to. I was looking at going forward in my career, he wanted early retirement. I wanted to travel, he wanted to set up house.

Not long ago, I met a guy in the opposite direction, 12 years younger. I just turned 42, he was thirty. I was looking for someone to relax and enjoy life with, he was still into the party scene.

While I don't discriminate against some years older or younger than me, I do think you have a bigger chance of having more in common with someone closer to your age.

The only guy I gave a flat out "no" to based on age was a guy who wanted to date, and he was 62 when I was 40. I couldnt' reconcile the fact that there was 22 years between me and him, and only 10 years between he and my dad.

Thanks all, I understand where eveyone is coming from.

I just don't know though . . . . I'm 46 and wanting to find someone to live the rest of my life with. If I dated a 28 year old, which is almost 20 years younger, it just can't see him wanting the live the rest of his life with me.

Also upset that everybody I started talking to, just doesnt turn out. This guy was incrediable too. Sad

I may have an age limit on who I look for, but it has grown in the past few years. When I Was younger it had always been +/- 2 years. Nowadays my range is about 12 years or so, from 18 to about 30.
I know I can find older men really attractive, but if they're older than my sister ( who is 10 years older than me) it starts getting iffy. They might be very nice and we might get along great, but I'm simply not attracted to men who are that much older than me.
