lyrics that hit home...
#21
You sure, you're right? Well no, you're wrong You don't feel my energy But it won't be long I see the sun Believe the dark Soon I'll disappear But I'll make my mark

All these fears And all this love All you've given me Is not enough All my dreams And all this stuff All made real And it's not enough

Watching, waiting, shaping, faking Shocking, pumping, mocking, stopping Falling, stalling, warning, crawling Rejecting, perfecting, loving, ending

Behind my eyes Is rage alone But you don't understand It was all home-grown I'm not afraid I just don't belong It may be cynical But it all seems wrong

All these fears And all this love All you've given me Is not enough All my dreams And all this stuff All made real And it's not enough

Watching, waiting, shaping, faking Shocking, pumping, mocking, stopping Falling, stalling, warning, crawling Rejecting, perfecting, loving, ending

The gorgeous Mama Cass with a great message:

Nobody can tell ya;
There's only one song worth singin'.
They may try and sell ya,
'cause it hangs them up
to see somone like you.

But you've gotta make your own kind of music
sing your own special song,
make your own kind of music even if nobody
else sing along.

So if you cannot take my hand,
and if you must be goin',
I will understand.

You're gonna be knowing
the loneliest kind of lonely.
It may be rough goin',
just to do your thing's
the hardest thing to do.

But you've gotta make your own kind of music
sing your own special song,
make your own kind of music even if nobody
else sings along.

So if you cannot take my hand,
and if you must be goin',
I will understand.

You gotta make your own kind of music
sing your own special song,
make your own kind of music even if nobody
else sings along.

This song brings tears to my eyes every-time I hear it.

When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all

I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way

See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Released in 1979 just after a close friend of mine had died. He had bright eyes, too. Cry

Is it a kind of a dream
Floating out on the tide
Following the river of death downstream
Oh is it a dream?
There's a fog along the horizon
A strange glow in the sky
And nobody seems to know where it goes
And what does it mean?
Oh is it a dream?

Bright eyes, burning like fire
Bright eyes, how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly,
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes

Is it a kind of a shadow
Reaching into the night
Wandering over the hills unseen
Oh is it a dream?
There's a high wind in the trees
A cold sound in the air
And nobody ever knows where you go
And where do you start?
Oh into the dark

Bright eyes, burning like fire
Bright eyes, how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly,
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes

Bright eyes, burning like fire
Bright eyes, how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly,
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes

Wake up to a sunny day, not a cloud up in the sky
Then it starts to rain, my defenses hit the ground
And they shatter all around, so open and exposed
I found strength in the struggle
Face to face with my trouble

When you're broken in a million little pieces
And you're trying but you can't hold on anymore
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believing in yourself
When you're broken

Little girl don't be so blue
I know what you're going through
Don't let it beat you up
Hitting walls and getting scars
Only makes you who you are
Only makes you who you are
No matter how much your heart is aching
There is beauty in the breaking
Yeah

When you're broken in a million little pieces
And you're trying but you can't hold on anymore
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believing in yourself
When you're broken

Better days are gonna find you once again
Every piece will find its place

When you're broken, when you're broken

mmmhmmmmm

When you're broken in a million little pieces
But you're trying but you can't hold on anymore
Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believing in yourself
When you're broken
Oh, when you're broken
When you're broken
When you're broken

Sadly, this happens too often . . . Cry

You leave in the morning with everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform, the wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Mother will never understand
Why you had to leave
For the answers you seek will never be found at home
The love that you need will never be found at home

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Pushed around and kicked around, always a lonely boy
You were the one that they'd talk about around town
As they put you down

And as hard as they would try, they'd hurt to make you cry
But you'd never cry to them, just to your soul
No, you'd never cry to them, just to your soul

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry, cry boy
Cry boy, cry, cry boy, cry boy, cry

You leave in the morning with everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform, the wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed days, the dark sacred nights
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Hello,
The song that touches a nerve even when i sing along to it is Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are by Meat loaf...

In the second verse the lyrics state

"And when the sun decended and the night arose i heard my father cursing everyone he knows he was dangerous and drunk and defeated and corrodied by failer anger and hate. There were endless winters and the dreams would freeze no where to hide and no leaves on the trees and my fathers eyes were blank as he hit me again and again and again... I know i still beleive he'd never let me leave i had to run away alone"

This hits me deep because for 12 years my step father was a alcoholic who dished out regular beatings to me my mum and my sister (or try to but i took extra beatings as she was only a year old at his worse moment). I remember an occassion as a child when i couldnt find something he wanted when doing repairs at my grandmothers and i was 9 years old and when i told him i couldnt find the tool he told me if i didnt get it now and bring it back i would be very very sorry... Shaking with fear i desperately hunted around and after ten minutes he came home and i hid under the cupboard under the stairs... He found me and dragged me out by my hair (which was longer back then) and smacked me round the head four times causing my scar i now have as he had a piece of jewellery on before dragging me upstairs in tears begging him not to hit me again and saying how sorry i am for being a failure at a simple thing and all i remember is him smashing up my nintendo, my television and my other toys I had back then... Telling me if i told my mum i wouldnt be living..
I ended up getting beatings like this from 18 months old to 12 years old when mum had courage to get him out... I dont regret protecting my sister and taking the beatings as she is now 19 and understands my scars and what i went through.... She has dis owned him and stood by me and despite him dying in a hospice from alcohol related problems i made sure i showed him no compassion by emptying his flat as he got evicted and was told its compensation for all the abuse i suffered as i want to set up my own home

Kindest regards

Air Supply I'm all out of love

I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart
I wish I could carry your smile and my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know

[Chorus:]
I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from this long lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too
Does the feeling seem oh so right
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone

[Chorus]

Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
