When I did clinical in a nursing home, I had to deal with getting my cheeks pinched all the time. 90 year old ladies calling me a sexy boy was quite the experience.

It was the only thing that kept me going when I was trying to be a nurse. The patients, clients, and residents were (usually) nice. My nursing instructors on the other hand . . . drank a different water.

Bad memories. I did civil service as an EMT in Germany and the doctors were all really nice and cooperative, but the professional EMTs that were teaching us.....

My nursing instructor pretty much told me I have a resting A-hole face. She didn't use those words, she just said she couldn't "read me". How one fails for body language, I have no idea. I guess it's just life's way of telling me not get ahead of myself. All I know is I'm glad I don't have kids who'll throw me in the home once I get up there. I'm going to save as much money as I possibly can and hope to get treated by aides at my own home. Hopefully there'll be a cure for dementia by then, if I make it that long.
