Yep that's true .

Except alot of aquatic species like the Apple Snail, has different genders.

It's mostly the Terrestrial Snails that are hermaphrodites .

I've never heard of them, but the rule is with most brightly coloured animals; "don't touch me, cause I'm poisonous" . Alot of small species do that, like dart frogs and snails/slugs and what not.

The colours to us are pretty, but to a potential predator, that means;

I saw a picture of a man holding a nudibranch in his hand... so maybe there are not poisonous? Or not that much :tongue:

^Sea cucumbers are what they're generally referred to as.... as to whether or not they are poisonous, I do not recall, but I seem to think they're likely covered in nematocysts of some variety, hence the spiky appearance.

I can agree.

Although, even though he may be holding one in his hand, it could still be poisonous. Most poisons work better in an oriface, such as the mouth,eyes,nose,ears or any open wounds. Even your pores if your sweating. This way it can get into your body. The king cobra and spitting cobra's always aim for the eyes first and spit their venom. Mainly to blind, but also to poison.

That's why some people lick newts and frogs, to get high off the toxins, but it's dangrous in high quantities. A man died by accidentally swallowing and ingesting the full brunt of his pet newts toxic secretions.

Newts can be handled by humans with extremely little side-effects, but if you don't wash your hands, you can easily be poisoned. Rubbing your eyes or eating right afterward would ensure that you get poisoned.

That's why kids aren't usually allowed to have pet Newts without constant supervision. I had a Newt as a child, but it didn't live very long and even still, the kind I had wasn't very toxic.

Pretty animals are almost always dangerous, usually because they are poisonous. That's why they are so pretty, to warn. At least they give a warning .

Wikipedia: Sea cucumbers are echinoderms from the class Holothuroidea.

They are a very wide and various grouping of tube-like organisms thriving in saline bodies of water throughout the world and have many large spectacular variations on color and pattern.

Also, briefly checking the wiki page there is no mention of toxicity or nematocysts (stinging organs), and I just barely recall an episode of Dual Survival in which they roasted and at a few of them.
