Annie Lennox AIDS Charity Cd!
#1
I just wanted to familiarize everyone with Annie Lennox's new chairty record Sing that came out last Saturday on World Aids Day. Did anyone get it? It really rocks, it's one of my favorite albums this year.

I picked up a few copies for myself and my friends for Christmas gifts. I figured it would be a good chance to support a great cause and the music is really good. There is a wide range of really good female singers that contribute including Madonna, Celine Dion, Pink, Shakira, Faith Hill, Fergie, Bonnie Raitt, Martha Wainwright, Joss Stone, Melissa Etheridge, Gladys Knight, Sarah Mclachlan, and others. My favortie songs are done by Melissa Etheridge and Sarah Mclachlan.

The CD raises money for AIDS and creates awareness so if you like talented female artists and good causes it should be right up your alley. I know there are probably some people in here that might have lost a loved one to AIDS and a lot of the time we feel hopeless like we can't do anything, but there are little things like this that we can do that help!

Happy Holidays everyone!

I actually have been being politely bombarded with e-mails from Annie Lennox (presumably her record label) about the release of Sing, which has caused my ears to prick up a fair bit I must admit ... I loooooove Annie Lennox, and I fully expect GayComputerDude to catch wind of this thread when next he's online, as I'd be interested to hear his take on this Confusedmile:.

I feel some of the other threads need moderating

I remember why I left last time! A 13 year old joined, and I couldnt be myself as certain things I didnt think someone of his age should see :frown:

I don't think that this type of post should be moderated, as it seems like a genuine attempt to drum up interest in significant gay issues - however, I do think that some of the "let's link sites - all you have to do is trade xxx porn with us" and similar threads should be moderated, but, having said that, I've seen you do just that in the past, so I think it's well-enough under control.

In fact, and this is NOT @rse-licking, I've always found you to be a very lenient moderator - I've seen sites in the past where the moderators have been considerably more heavy-handed with their duties, and that reduces people's enjoyment of the site, so I think you've got the right idea, by providing the framework for people to relax and enjoy themselves, stepping in only when called for, or when you see a TOS violation.

So cheers !! Confusedmile:.

Saltybeans i have thought about the age limit myself. In fact if the site was mine i would have it for 18+ BUT (besides that i think the age limit in Vbulletin is preset) there is a need for gay forums where young people can join being honest about their age and participate to our public conversations ask what they need to know in that age.
However it is a public forum and when someone joins must have the common sense to filter and read the posts he likes and ignore what he doesnt or find not appropriate for him; a 13 year's old which is the youngest age allowed here, should be able to do that. No reason for anyone to feel guilty ( to my knowledge nobody complained) or uncomfortable at all saying something within the guidelines of the forum (read thread: A happy and clean forum) and from what i remember you personally have always done!

Thank you Shadow, indeed i do as you said. I can recognize is spam or offensive and moderate it and try not to over-moderate to put people off. Sometimes people can be annoyed when they see a post that can be described as advertisement and especially when they receive messages of that kind. when this happens report it to a moderator and will do what is possible to stop it.

This one seems genuine, also its for a good cause and f you all are are ok with this it can stay there Confusedmile:
Btw soccerrockermum sorry for doubting your post , as a free forum there are often first time posters with spam that try to pass on information sell products ect

Cheers

Mm I still feel bad, I was thinking about it last night and it was making me not want to post, as my sister is the same age and I wouldnt want her reading about wanking, self sucking etc, id be horrified. Theres enough sluts in the world, just I think there should be an age limit.. at least 15..
