I don't know how to life my life without being in a constant state of high stress
#1
So, outside of my job I don't really have anything going on. It's kinda a big void. Now, I'm lucky enough to love what I do, it's just I don't have anything to do during my downtime. It isn't until recently that I realized that for the first time ever my life is not very stressful. I am basically bored now that I have reached a comfortable point. As the title suggests, I don't have any idea what I'm supposed to do with my life outside work. Any suggestions?

This happens to me too.

It goes like this: you don't want to be stressed but then you don't know what to do without stress.

A simple answer would be, what do you like to do? Anyone can easily think of things they like doing in their free time. Perhaps you can pick certain activities that tackle your "need for stress" but not in the unhealthy way work tends to be. For instance, go run, go dance your butt off, get yourself in motion, get yourself tired in a good way!

Go to the library (even if you're not the scholarly type, you'll soon discover we have books pretty much on every imaginable subject in this world, and there's lots of fascinating information contained within said books); learn a foreign language; redesign your house; write poetry; go to a clothing boutique and buy something you don't regularly wear to refreshen your style; go to the dog pound and take a homeless dog for a walk; take photographs; listen to music (really listen to it); meet new people....

I could go on, but this is just from off the top of my head.

Welcome neighbor...

Here's a fun group to get with... https://www.meetup.com/Random-Places-Ran...235186644/ Very nerdy... gay friendly. I've been to one of their meetups, but scheduling and funds keeps me a home body most of the time.

I mostly stay home with my fiance. We watch netflix A LOT, he binge watches series. Video games. I read a book a month almost. We're always looking for friends to hang out with. Summer time we like to go kayaking, and take walks.

Concerts...

Have you tried books, movies, art galleries, opera, theatre, or dancing?

This is pretty much the reason that the arts exist.

Maybe your work is of interest to some people on the internet. There could be a place where people discuss what you do. Or you could become a musician.

Get a hobby that involves you going outside.
As I've said many times, I bowl with a club. And at 19:30 we have a match.
Bowling is a nice and easy SPORT xD
Though it can be expensive if you want your own balls, shoes and bag. Your own shoes is a must imo. Balls, not really a must, but it's nice to have. 2 is enough really, one for heavy oil and one for light oil. You can use the light oil for sparing.

Are there any sports you have an interest in?
Maybe you could try doing arts?
Get a gum membership, and actually attent gym a few times a week. Lots of guys go there to meet other guys xD

Volunteering might be a good idea. Indy is a fairly large city so I'm could likely find a place I'm interested in. My office has a gym so I could work out for free but I'd have to start watching what I eat first. Meetup seems like an interesting place to look for places to hangout.

read, listen to music, go for walks and take photos, join a Gym, do an external/correspondance study
