Latest news on the river.
#1
Hi all.
I just came back from checking on the evacuation pole.
We are about 4 to 5 miters away as yet.

Any reports you hear on the news regarding Goulburn evacuations are not us as yet.
Yes we live near the Wollondilly but we are on the other side of town.

Currently the Wollendilly is rising and is around 6.4 meters.
Chart here The chart is a live feed so you can check on it anytime.

The second last picture was taken from my street looking down the lane way.
My house is 3 houses down from there, on the other side of the road.
Believe it or not last years one was a lot worse, so all good.

Here are some pics I took while I was there.

Jack will not be impressed , he will have to remark what trees are left.
This thing was snapping trees all night long .

I will keep you all updated.

Wow. I've never been in a flood before. That looks crazy. But it clearly sounds like it's old hat to you. Can't put it any better than Azulai did: stay safe.

Australia is the land of flooding rains, and if it isn't floods it bushfires then droughts...it's an 11 year cycle basically. I think we will have one more wet summer, then summer 13/14 and 14/15 will be peak bushfire and then for the follow 3-4 years we will be gripped by drought againand it will start all over again in 2019/20 with floods.

I live about 1400-1500 km north of Mum and we had our floods in January to mid February with over 800mm of rain which is pretty much what Mum is getting now. BUT like-wise, this year wasn't as bad as last year. Over 20 people died in last years flooding around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Glad the impact is less this year for you and and your family Mum Wink

Me too dfiant.
So many people do not understand the harshness of this country .
I have traveled all over the world , and there is no way ,I would live anywhere else.
This is my home, and I love this country.

Us aussies adapt to it all, droughts, flooding, bushfire seasons, monsoon season and the occasional avalanche.

OMG...that looks so scary....I am glad there are no more heavy rains today. How much more would it have to rise before it flooded?...and will it go down pretty fast?...is there someplace for the water to go when it recedes?

I hope you and everyone around you stays safe and dry

She broke her banks at 4 meters.
Lower city side of Goulburn is evacuated , we are much higher here on the agricultural side .
To get to us she will have to rise up to 8 meters .
