Stereotypes
#1
Whether its about your sexuality, gender, race, age, or another aspect of your identity, are there any stereotypes you can happily admit apply to you?

And on the flip side, which stereotypes of any aspect of your identity would you consider the worst to be associated with?

Take this as silly or as deep as you'd like.

Between yesterday and today I ate a whole one (but I am only 1/8 black...maybe if I ate 1/8 of one ...err....)

Stereotypes that apply....

Being Gay and being promiscuous...I was a slut when I was single..and a happy one. No hand wringing....No "I wish I woulda done things differently" crapola from me...I meant to do it...loved doing it...and would do it all over again...

For the people who hate that stereotype...I have been in a monogamous relationship for 30 years...and very happy with him..and the relationship...as is he....so for all the finger waggers.....BITE ME Biglaugh

Being a Bay Area California Native...I am a tree hugger...New Age socialist....YUP...and proud of it....the stereotype is correct for me. Sadly...the stereotype will soon change to the multi millionaire being the norm here...and they will be corporation huggers...

The tree huggers...we are getting old...

Stereotypes that make me laugh...

When you are gay..it is over at 40 Rofl

Last Wednesday...THREE guys tried to pick me up...with my boyfriend there (though not by my side...he watched with the same amusement at a distance he always does)...I get uncomfortable sometimes and then he comes to save me....and I am almost 58. That was in one day...shopping around the Bay Area...

Stereotypes in general about gay people don't make me mad....they tell me alot about the people who believe them though....

So I take it, Anocxu, that your stereotype is that of a quitter since you only got halfway through the job and gave up.

1) I do not have problems with the English language just because I look Korean

2) I'm not a gang member just because I'm Asian and have a scar on my face

3) Gideon and I are in a Dominant/submissive relationship. This doesn't mean I'm submissive, it means I submit to him.... and only him.

4) That isn't coffee in my coffee cup. *LOL*

5) Being bisexual doesn't mean I'm incapable of a committed, monogamous relationship.

More and more I see I fit the midwest corn fed stereotype which isn't limited just to straight farm guys. It's bigger than that.

All corn fed straight boys are taught to respect their fiancees and wives... This is like an unbreakable law. You can't bribe a real corn fed boy to say something bad about his spouse... except in fun. I do it with Jay without thinking about it. I make fun of myself the same way straight corn fed boys do -- about being pussy whipped and having to carry out the trash when told in order to get laid...

When Jay starts acting like he's the boss of everything, I never argue. My lips say 'yes, dear'... but he finally figured out that really means, 'now I've agreed with your sassy self and gotten horned up can we go fuck?'

Corn fed boys never speak bad of in laws... or act put out when they come to visit. They pay all the bills and never complain about them. They give up a great weekend fishing trip to help clean closets.

It's a real stereotype and a real cultural thing and I'm really getting comfortable with.

Grew up on an island in the Caribbean, so my love for beautiful beaches and the underwater world is intense. However for an island boy I do not eat fish! Yuck, since I was a baby who knew.

A funny gay stereotype. I never cared much about fashion and clothes, until I came to live in Europe and gone where the baggy/lose clothes and hallo fitted, dress to impress clothes.

I'm a south-paw. When people notice they always imply that I am either super creative or an evil doer... of course none of this is true.
