The first time I realize I was (if nothing else) bicurious
#1
Hello,

I wanted to share something with the forum: the first thing that ever made me realize I was curious about guys, but I wasn't sure where to. It didn't seem to be a fit for "introduce yourself" or "chit chat." (Chit Chat seems to be a "G-rated" board.) So before I go any further, can someone advise me if this is the right place?

The forum police seem to be quite lenient around here. Tell away.

Thanks for the answer AND the welcome!

Before I write it, I guess I should also ask how graphic I can get here. LOL

If I spring wood its too graphic... mind I'm talking about wood as in lumber not wood as in... Wink

Just be not X-rated graphic. We are mostly adults (Some members are underage). So use your best judgment.

Excuse me, I need to pull over a speeding LJay to show him how non-lenient Gayspeak police can really be.

Try not to get too pornographic...but say what you like. If it crosses a line someone will let you know.

There's A LOT of info coming out now about "Bi-curious" guys and what makes them curious about sex with men. I saw your age assume you are predominantly straight.
No big deal.
You probably have been sampling some porn and seen things that excite you about what guys do.
No big deal either.

You're not alone. In fact it's beginning to look like there are more of you than there are 100% gay guys.
But that's not news.
Nearly every gay guy over 35 I've talked with about it says they run into more "bi-curious" guys looking for hook ups than gay guys.

It doesn't mean you're gay or bisexual. There have always been and always will be men who are more or less heterosexual who get turned on about sex with guys. The problem is that for 2,000 years they been pressured by religion and society not to act on it or even talk about it. With porn and information being so easily accessible on the internet now more and more guys are getting comfortable about their urges to experiment...... or just talk about experimenting.

Here's some guys like you talking about it.

Gay guys get more upset with me about this subject than they would if I messed up their hair. hahhaha!
The problem is the way people have been taught to perceive sexuality in general for over 60 years. Back in the 1950s Kinsey came up with this two dimensional chart for human sexuality and most people can't envision sexuality as being more than a zero to six chinese restaurant style menu.

If human sexuality was that simple it would make it simpler than any other part of what makes up the identity and personality of human beings. The labels "hetero - bi - gay" are all wrong when applied to the whole multi dimensional sexual range of humans.

Here's this test for you to take and learn a little about yourself and sexuality.

So I took that test and got a 0 in versatile, supersexual, macho, and all those other things on that graph. WTH is up with that?I did get a 10 on the gay in the bar graph though woot woot! ( didn't think it would go any other way)

I totally agree with Virge… and its true, gay men can get totally bent out of shape about this subject. Many think that any guy who has sex with another man *must* (by fact of the sex act) be gay but in denial. Some will admit to the "possibility" of bisexuality but, not being bi themselves, can't actually imagine it. But, again, these labels S, B, G are two-dimensional.

What it really boils down to, I think, is that sexual activity is pleasurable (period). We are creatures who like to pleasure ourselves and one another. And why not?

Well, the "why not" question is where it gets tricky from societies POV. If what you want is to increase the herd population then sexual activity that isn't hetero may interfere with that.

The real question is, what are you drawn to emotionally; what gender do you prefer to bond with on an emotional level? This is one of the things that drive gay men nuts. They want to bond with other men. Straight men who play around sexually with one another won't "fall in love" with one another. They may form "bro" type bonds, even "love" one another in a sense -- but this is different from wanting to build a family. Gay men want that *with other men*.

All this is confusing because our society has never come to terms with what sexuality actually is, IMO. IOW, it isn't just about propagation -- this should be obvious. It is in *part* about emotional bonding but, most of all, it is about pleasure and achieving the 'high' of orgasmic ecstasy. I believe the latter is what sex is really most about -- and Tantra comes closest to anything that describes this. Put differently, if we really understood our sexuality, we'd see that it is fundamentally "spiritual" (for lack of a better word) in nature. It has to do with that moment where we are thrust (physiologically) beyond our ordinary state of ego consciousness and experience a momentary "death" of the ego and, thus, "union" with something else. That union can be with another person or it can be with a much more PRIMAL energy.
