Most of them come from Nigeria, the home of the 419 scam.

That is the popular story. I didn't want to make any assumptions.

Hi @"marshlander":  I've heard of other people who nave followed up SCAMS and to hilarious results.  One of the receivers pretended to be a woman and who, after many, many exchanges of information, declared "her" love of the SCAMMER and persuaded him to send intimate photos of himself.  "She" of course initiated these exchanges using photos of some totally unknown woman that "she" found on the Internet.

My creativity doesn't extend to that so I've never tried to lead a SCAMMER on but I do admire those who do.

Incidentally, the SCAMMER actually wrote to me again:

"please confirm your information to me right now so my agent will

delivery your ATM Card right now"
