There is a couple inches of snow on the ground!

Well... I was doing really excellently. There was a lot more snow than I imagined and a layer of ice from the day before. The plows/salt trucks had not been out!
I am really glad I have a Trek mountain bike... not the most expensive but well built and GREAT brakes with good treads on the tires. I also have excellent winter clothing. Very warm and dry but breaths so I am always comfortable.
My road is a couple blocks off the main road and I was sliding a bit so going slow and testing the brakes and tread... made it to the main road and followed the path made by the cars so no problems... just went slow. Traffic was pretty minimum and no assholes trying to pass me!
First scare was going downhill but no problem then a bigger climb up hill and I was worried if the tread would hold - no problem. I was rather proud!
The pharmacy staff is always amazed when I pop in during some crazy weather!
Did some other shopping and made my way back home with a bit more worry back down the hill and more snow! No problem... up the hill - longer and a bit more out of breath... a little more slippery.
Then I made my mistake. I signaled my turn. Had it all clear and turned onto my snow covered street and immediately took a big fall hitting my elbow hard! If I didnt have all the clothing + snow I might have come away with a fracture but have always been lucky with biking accidents! Even the major hit & run that threw me 60 feet that left me without a tear in my clothing!!!
I am sure I will be a little sore the next few days but 19 of the 20 blocks were very good lol.
