What's important now is to be there for your father. You cannot control nor should you feel responsible for other people and the way they decide to behave. All you can do is your best in any given circumstance. Be there for your father and be the best father you can be in this situation and trust that whatever issues your son is dealing with is his journey. Nothing is permanent.
Not even the way a son feels about his father.
