Well that's pretty odd and kinda sad your dad isn't more "in tune" with what's going on in your life. .
So..
This brings us back to you making a decision. .

I understand you do not get along with your folks as well as you'd love to..
BUT..
Avoiding small talk with your dad is definitely not the answer.

Do you want him to be more involved ?

If your Dad knows you avoid him sometimes .. maybe he is choosing not to be "so involved " ..

No, the less I talk to him the better. I don't want him nor expect him to be "involved" in my life.

This topic is different though, this is something I have in fact discussed with him because he insists on grilling me about my work, how much money I'm making blah blah blah.

I mean, even one of the members here knows exactly whom do I work for after having mentioned it once.

What I resent is the fact that he insists on nagging about these aspects of my life and then the fucker doesn't even pay me attention when I talk to him about it!!
