Sylph and Insertnamehere, it seems that you both are talking about something that has been on my mind of late, that is to say, a sense of place. I said to someone just recently that I grew up in a small town in the American Midwest and that I have been away from there for nearly 60 years and yet it is still home. I am informed by that place and it is part of me. Though life where I am is not so very different in the day to day routine, that place is as different from where I am, or where I have been since I left it, as night is different from day. That place is my "culture" and will always be evident in the way I think and handle myself, though it may not be obvious to those around me. It is part of what makes me to be myself. Were I to live in any other place, that sense of place will never leave me. I may not wave its flag in a blatant way, though sometimes I do, but it will always be there.
I bid NO Trump!
