The best advice I saw was on a random TV show where they said if you can’t sleep, stop trying. Get up, go read a book or something relaxing but stop trying to sleep. Don’t look at the time, just distract yourself until you really are tired then go to bed. It helped me because it was my preoccupation with sleep causing the issue.
