After months of encouraging and giving Mr. T a lot of advice on how to approach his crush, he finally made his first move yesterday. He smiled at her and she smiled back. He was elated.
As his best friend, I am very happy for him. But at the same time, I feel like a small hole has been punched into my heart. I feel a bit empty. Mind you, I had a crush on this guy before.
Mr. T once told me our friendship will remain as it is even when he already has a girlfriend. He told me that he will still call me every night and we will still go out together all the time. But I explained to him kindly that all these will no longer be possible when he is under a commitment with his (future) girlfriend.
Sure, we still can call each other and go out once in a while but not as often as we do right now. But he still can count on me to be there for him all the time.
He was a bit disappointed. I'll be disappointed too. But I asked him not to worry. It's life.
This whole thing feels like a soap opera. I hope it ends well.
