x3 yeah, can't put anything better than those who have posted already... but there is one thing I'd argue...

"Text/Call/Online relationships never ever will work. Hurts to much. You may speak to them but that doesnt compensate the need to hold them, touch them, smell them, know they are there! I advise you unless you can meet regulary then forget it. You will only get hurt, and if this is simply for sex then why bother.."--Saltybeanz

err... Salty? They can work x3 but you're right, you can't have a strictly online relationship, you've gotta look to the future and say "I'm going to eventually meet up with them!" or else it's pointless. But if it is just a temporary internet, going to move into a real life relationship, then hell yeah, it works. And look at it this way: the whole online part of the relationship is making sure they're the one you truly want! =D

I disagree - especially from going from having them there and to not have them there. Its not practical. If theres plans to meet up regulary then it will be fine, but just online why bother? Online relationships are not relationships to be fair. A relationship is knowing you got someone there when you need them, not "OH NO I HOPE THEY ARE ONLINE", or "OMG I GOTTA CALL THEN SIT ON MY OWN ALL NIGHT" Seriously if it is over 2 weeks dont bother.

This guy stated they split first of all due to lack of calls/texts which indicates long distance wouldnt work for them Wink Hence the dont bother long distance. They've tried didnt work. Obviously neither can carry on?

Twazzle I'm sorry but I've got to go with Sui on this one - I met Martyn on gaydar, and whilst we've still got a bit of finalising to do, he's already decided to take the step to move to Jersey, so whilst it has involved a lot of patience on both sides, our long-distance relationship has worked for us Confusedmile:.

There are positives and negatives obviously - as you have already pointed out, there is no substitute for being able to hold them in your arms, and the cold comfort of a telephone handset is small consolation - however, it does provide you with an opportunity to get to know them a bit better, so I agree with Sui when he says if you're just using the internet as a temporary, let's phase-things-into-something-more-concrete-and-physically-close-geography-wise thing, then I think it can work fine, as long as you're both rational and committed to the same objective ...

I agree with you insofar as statistically it RARELY works, and for many people it's just not an option for a whole host of reasons, but I've seen examples of how it can (and does), and am one myself, so I think Sui has a good point ...

*nods courteously*

BUT you were not with martyn like in person if you get me, you had it based online and met up a few times - not relationship to net so you lose contact. Im also hoping you didnt do it over the space of 5 weeks

They started in person, then moved to net, you started net to person which is a decent step not a step backwards, how would you feel from always having martyn to not? You couldnt do it. And that is my point.

Now i become older and older, but i didn't find a good guy off line. Till now, i feel really bad. These guys are bad. Recently, my friends told me some good guys are on gkiss.com/user/wayland. I had a try, yes, it's different but great.
