Christmas 2007!
#11
Spoty: Unfortunately my parents don't have internet access, so when I leave, I won't be posting here for at least 3 weeks. It kinda sucks, but I'm used to it.

Salty: Yes, some people have said that I am suffering from homesickness, but I just moved to Ontario in June, before that I lived in Fredericton, New Brunswick, which is only a 3 hour drive from my parents house. I am used to being away, except this is the longest I have ever gone without seeing them.

Bless you Prince of Narnia - we used to have a Dolberman ourselves (many years ago now it seems) - he was so beautiful bless him ... paid for his looks with his brains like, but he was beautiful nonetheless Confusedmile:.

Twazzle, it appears you and I have a few more similarities than I had originally appreciated - like the Welsh thing, and the living at home thing - I have an apartment that's attached to our family home, so I'm aaaaaalways at home for Christmas, which is KEWL.

Oh ... and the not opening past threads thing - gotta agree with you on that too !!

AND spending shedloads at Christmas time !! I do that too !!!!!

In answer to your question, I'm going to be spending around £800-£1000 this year all told, but I'm finding it progressively hard to do my shopping as I'm running out of ideas for people ... in the past I've bought my best mates video games consoles, but they're so dear these days that I can't afford to pod out the odd £300 on each of them, which sucks :frown:.

Therefore SOME people have gotten well thought-out gifts (like my b/f), and others are just getting vouchers I'm afraid ... but at least with that, they can get something they would like, which is ultimately one of my main aims when buying presents ... Confusedmile:.

We're going to be having a nice, quiet, family Christmas, and as for what I'd like ? I'd like for Martyn to be here, but he's been told he can't take time off work until the 2nd or 3rd week of JANUARY now, so I'm not too happy about that :frown:.

xx

Christmas for us is not about presents. In fact we don't buy presents for each other at Christmas. For us it's about friends and getting together, having a long lunch (and dinner with the next shift lol) and just enjoying the idea of being with people we care about. It's a nice day and we all enjoy it.

Aha! Attached how so? And to be fair my mum made it clear, when I do move out or my sister we HAVE to come back every christmas unless we do it at our house the whole family.

My mum and dad have never done that due to various breakdowns withing family relationships so thats why I guess!

I spend loads as it is the only time I do on mates etc. So why not spoil the people which support me through thick and thin?

Thats what christmas is about to me.. But like I stated it allows me to say thank you and in a way give something to say thanks without it having the whole "No I cant take it" Im like its christmas so HAHAHA! Id NEVER not do a family christmas, only real day we spend ALL of it together and play games etc.
