weather where ever
Bookworm Wrote:I wondered where all our rain was going

(However, I don't want to jinx the reasonably fair weather we have been having lately so I didn't actually say that, really...) Pray

We had 2 days of beautiful sunshine, then the storm clouds have just started to roll back in....so take your fucking rain and miserable weather back....

PLEASE? Bighug

I have been keeping an eye on the news for your part of the world....glad you have dodged a bullet with the weather.

The weather's getting really weird... like REALLY weird. Weird for Auckland which if you live here you'd know is weird.

There's a cloud cover that's being really ominous and there's rain but it doesn't feel quite right.

It feels like the sky is constipated and is being all moody.

same here right now...looks like it is about to pour, but nothing but a little drizzle

Thank you dfiant. I was the lucky one, the water got nowhere near my family. The north of the country expects the worst yet to happen this night. The "high tide" is on its way. The main river will be more than 11 meters deep and the flood control system is just for 10.

Goodness, best of luck to everyone affected. Sad

Meanwhile the weather here in Columbia, SC is pretty nice: overcast sky, 75F / 24C temperature with 92% humidity and a slight chance of rain.

It's cloudy here today. I wish it was sunny again.

Yeah, I hope, Miles. They say it will rain tomorrow again.
The Vltava River flows through almost the whole country - from the south to Prague and then to the north were it joins the big Labe River - that's why the towns up there will have more water. The Labe then flows to Germany.
I suspect the Germans now negotiate with our government, because there are seven dams on the Vltava - all of them full and expecting more rain - but the opening of the outlets would also affect the towns in Germany.

not high enough...

The Labe has already more than 10meters

it's amazing Smile The same walls have been erected in Prague.

Pity that they can't save villages.

Bavaria in Germany is said to be affected even worse. I know it can't be compared to New Orleans or other nature disasters that happened in the US, but for some towns, it's the third big flood in just 11 years. It's frustrating
