The L Word & Buffy
#11
Just so you know The L Word isn't considered a "movie" in the States but rather a "series" or "live action TV." Granted, the dvds give the option of playing eps back to back (and I believe Showtime sometimes aired them that way, too) so that it can FEEL like watching an extremely long movie.

And while most sex was lesbian they had hetero sex and gay male sex from time to time as well. They even had a sex scene of a FtM transsexual who used a strap-on on a gay guy, and I liked it because it made sense as they had good chemistry and the fact the gay guy made Max feel like a real man rather than the lesbians who made him feel like a woman transitioning into a man (and thus not real).

I love both shows! I find "The L Word" to be hilarious and touching and Buffy, while old, to be just plain awesome. Buffy had some touching moments as well, such as when Spike died for Buffy and when Willow finally accepted Tara's death.

Last night we saw BtVS: Hush and this morning I learned the boy had terrible nightmares of the Gentlemen. I told him I didn't think any of the eps that come after are anywhere as scary but he said that was too bad as Hush is now his all-time favorite Buffy ep and while me and his sister go see Snow White and the Huntsman today at 1:10 he's going to stay home and watch Hush again...alone.

I wonder, what is the appeal of scaring one's self?

I like it, too. So does the girl, though my thought on her liking the series in general is because it shares so many character & story elements with Harry Potter (which they both loved, come to think of it).

He loves the Initiative and I'm certain he's going to love Adam even more. Confusedmile:
