Very Confused....People please advice
#11
Without you giving us more background info about your "boyfriend" it really sounds more like a "FWB - (Friends with benefits) relationship. Yes, we understand it's not a 100% sex-only relationship, but he's been very honest with you that he does not have the emotional attachment to you that you have with him.

So, to be fair, he's been very upfront and without further info about his situation (is he married? single? out? not out? does he come from a very intolerant family? career issues that keep him in the closet), you really have 2 choices: continue on this very casual relationship and enjoy it for it's simplicity, or break it off and move on - only this way can you avoid feeling "used" down the road.

Be as brutally honest and truthful as you can be. Explain to him everything you feel about him. Ask him to talk to you the same way. Listen carefully to every thing he says and quietly try to voice your objections to the things you don't like. Lovers never deal in ultimatums, enemies do that to each other. Try a strictly talking date and leave out sex. If he truly desires you he will get nervous about losing you. You are already nervous about losing him. If you see an opening for compromise, grab it. Not everyone falls instantly in love. I did with my guy, but he was straight and I knew I could not push him to far to fast. He was OK at first about sex but it took awhile for him to warm up to me. He was engaged to be married at the time. I thought I was wasting my time. By the way that happened in 1968. I took my time and I am still in love with him in 2012. Not bad. We are probably past the rough spots. Now we just have to figure out where we live in heaven together. Stick it out but accept the fact that he may not be the right guy for you or you may not be the right guy for him, Good luck.
