Travellers.... DISGRACE or Friend?
#1
Hi All,
Just a debatable topic and nothing ment in personal however last night a group of travellers moved onto the land behind my fence and have decided to be right scum and set up camp... I was saddenned to hear my neighbour tonight is moving out of her home until they go because she is fearful as they spoke to her like shit with her newborn baby in the pram... I came home and found they have al;ready thrown loads of litter around the park which I am disguisted at and wish to be honest that whoever got rid of the last lot would do this lot... Three years ago they moved into a different park in the area so some residents had petrol bombs and various other firey products and just threw them all in... It soon cured the problem.. I personally dont know why i have hatred for them because it goes against my bvelief and i was with my ex for so long that i was used to gypsie ways around the flat as his a gypsie... So has anyone else had problems where this on their door? I know with me i contact my council six times a day wanting updates and wont rest!

See this is one of the major problems of an unarmed citizenry, they can't protect themselves.

I understand that UK police are mostly unarmed, thus most likely don't get involved.

If we had this problem around here the local sheriff would be called, there would be an immediate response of 3-6 cars and citations for trespassing would be issued with clear orders to move out in X number of hours/minutes depending on how much stuff the homeless have there.

Failure to move would be the next day 10 cop cars would show up, the 'gypsies' would be handcuffed, read their rights. If they made a move they would be pepper sprayed. If they dared to open their mouths and start mouthing off about constitutional rights they would be tazed, or shot depending on the mood of the sheriff at the time.

We Americans have a zero tolerance policy on homelessness, we take it seriously and arrest those who dare to be homeless in the wrong places.

Socialist nations like the UK are all nanny state, let the poor homeless be wherever they want. On top of it you also give them free stuff like medical care.

This is exactly why the Republicans don't want any of that Romney, erm I mean Obama care crap, it leads to camps of gypsies harassing the law abiding citizenry.

Ok, some of that above is true - horribly enough.

I agree with you and im soprry but if they damage my new car i swear to god its going to be hell to pay.. I am worried though because it cost me £5,500 anbd ive only had it a week lol.. I think the police here should be more forceful and these immigrants should be sent back abroad to ireland and told until you learn to NOT bring your crap to our country you dont come back.. l am using this as an oppetunity to get the community together and rallying around...

i so will take some "dislikes" for this, but pls if you didn;t had ths experiences don;t judge.
Gather all the nearby neighbours and beat the hell out of them. If you call the cops , they will jsut come back.
This is a typical romania thing. Beat the hell out of them.
( I don't have anything with nice gypsies and i am not a hater )

Bighug Auntie.

Don't they need a squatters license to occupy crown land?
I don't suppose you know any bikers , do you?
They usually come in handy in scaring people.

Seriously Aunty can the police do anything?
Stay safe sweetie , please stay safe.

where i live they drive round behind our houses with one of them sitting on top of there vans so they can look into gardens and when they see something they want they jump in and steel it this includes PETS!!!! the polics have caught them many times - they do absolutly nothing , the last officer said its pointless fining them as they dont pay ! , a lady caught them outside a local chip shop with her dog in the cab seat , she grabbed the dog but they spit on her and abused her - once again the police didnt even turn up - we know they take the dogs to other travellers to swop in other areas to sell or made to dog fight.. the police did at least a warn people of that..

we actually phone round to each other when the gypsys are about so we can get our pets indoors - that how bad it is here

the big fat gypsy wedding proggrams are total crap - they have 100.000 pound caravans but do not work or pay taxes ??? they get the money by stealing, breaking and entering, pick pocketing, conning people out of money - the list goes on

they are scum who pray on people in the areas they descend upon and unless they are made to follow laws then honest people will suffer

wow - feel better geting that off my chest

Mihai is quite right in what he has stated full stop.

Grown up quite ethnic here in Australia with numerous trips abroad to Central Europe to visit family has taught me one thing unless your family and have a higher rank most will not respect what you say nor do anything to help you quite the opposite In fact.
Apart from being aggressive to the squatters (as i don't condone violence), continue to pester the council day and night as well as local Law enforcement until the obvious problem is resolved and get your neighbors on the band wagon as well, if there is young children involed also contact the relevant authorities about having these kids taken out of obvious squaller and put into the system (if the UK has one).
In the end it's a hard process in the UK from what I understand in the CZ or HUN, a simple phone call would resolve the issue in a few hours and would hav them on their way.

One thing I've never understood is why English Law Enforment don't have guns and instead use battens?

This is a reply to the Thread: Traveler's... Disgrace or friend. It strikes me as odd that the local police or Constable or what ever term you use for law enforcement would allow one to occupy a public area without permits. Here in the States , let me see if I can get this right . Camping in public parks are prohibited unless it is a designated area. You can stage a gathering , but you must have a permit. I assume that covers a small family gathering to Occupy Wall Street.

Now I remember in my early twenty's They still allowed people tp camp out on the beach. anyway, back then we were just poor and hungry college students. So when we had the opportunity to get away on holiday we would take the week end drive over to Califorina and camp out on the beach for the week end. All we would have to sp[ring for was food.

That has all changed now. They will come after curfew and arrest you for trespassing. Bad or good I can see both sides of the story. There should be a balance. Anyway I'm sure you weren't expecting this whole story . my original intent was to ask about the law enforcement issue. Thanks for letting me bend your ear.

the UK is totally dofferent to Amreica when it comes to travellers, even the TV stations will make a a tv series based on a travellers camp site and the months or even years it takes to remove them - the highlight of the show is when the travellers barricade themselves in to huge areas where they are basically squatting and them have pitched battles with the police who usually retreat after the first few episodes - this apparently is good telivsion, thats how low we have sunk...

this sums up travellers for me - on The tv show "my big fat gypsy wedding" the groom who was 20 if i remember was really looking forward to his wedding day - he stated to the camera he was looking forward to getting drunk and having a good puch up !!! the groom wanting his own wedding to include violence by fighting really shows the world the morals of these people..

Thanks for the info. I didn't have a clue that the law were so far apart in this area. We get a mlot of those shows on TV too. I think they call it Reality TV. It's plain B.S. to meThat's why I don't watch much TV.
