I can't really relate to the whole gun thing...I think of it as an young soul experience and I dont' even have an opinion except that I like to stay away from them in general. If someone had a gun on them and I was dating them I would remove myself from the date permanently...huge turn off.

I don't think it is useful to bear arms - not for self-protection and not for hunting.
In Germany it is forbidden to hunt for yourself ...and I think this is a good law. We have professional hunters... and they have to take an education and an examination - same like fishing - both for animal protection. Meat you can buy at every Aldi ... no need to hunt

I respect those who like to soap up in the second amendment bath, but personally, I think that the propaganda we Americans are fed daily, especially through the news, to arm ourselves (or else!), is a sad theology (disregarding any premise on sexual orientation).

Maybe if the news (and our entertainment industry), didn't revolve around the less than 1% of violent crime committed in society (as if 100% of it is out to get you), we wouldn't be arming ourselves head to toe.

Very very very few. Anyone who has received even basic firearms training knows you a) don't point a gun at anything you don't want to shoot and b) don't put your finger on the trigger until you know what you are aiming at.

There is more propaganda about how dangerous guns are by the liberal media than there is Pro-gun propaganda out there. And people gobble it up, especially when they've never held or fired a gun before.

A gun is a tool. Nothing more, and nothing less. And a gun evens the playing field with everybody. I don't care what martial arts/ self defense stuff you know, a group of miscreants will beat you down and take what they want. This isn't the movies, the average human being can barely defend themselves against one person, let alone multiple people. There have been hardass marines that have thought they were the baddest m'effer on the planet that have gotten beat up by a couple kids because they were out numbered. That reality comes to bear every time something like this happens:

But you know what guns do? They make it fair. A group of the biggest baddest thugs on the planet wouldn't think about snatching little granny's purse if she draws her Glock down on them.

There is no place on the planet where guns are illegal and their AREN'T guns. But you know who has them? The bad guys. Which all a gun-free area does is say "hey bad guys, none of the innocent people here are armed, feel free to come in and take advantage of them".

It is a pipe dream of the foolish for a world where there are no guns and no gun violence. If you disarm the people trying to keep themselves safe, you make them victims.

You must reason with a man with a gun. You can't bully or buffalo him, you must reason with him. When everyone is armed, everyone is equal.

Right now the only thing illegal weapons wise are full auto weapons (in some instances) and other destructive devices. Bad guys still get those. But you know what? Ruffus McRuffian with his full auto AK-47 trying to shoot everybody up can be dropped by Joe Schmo with ONE BULLET.

But not if you take away his gun rights.



I don't know how many of you have ever had to wait for emergency services, but it seems like forever when your life is on the line.

An AK 47 fires 600 rounds per minute.

If a guy was shooting with an AK, and only spent HALF the time shooting (say he spends the rest reloading) He will fire 2525 rounds before the police show up, and there is no telling how long it will take to take him down. Do you want 2525 chances to die with no say in the matter?

Oh, and I even left out how long it took for someone to make the call to 911. He could get off an additional 500-1000 rounds in that amount of time.

actually me to, the US constitution written in the 1700's is a junk document now a days in many ways. If they take away one right (the right to bare arms) what do they give you in return? It is not a win win situation either way you look at it.
A little insight for the dfiant.

Working in a city hospital emergency room during college i was impressed how much fractured ribs hurt. Later on in life experienced some my self. Someone going at you with a base ball bad puts you in a wheel chair for life and maybe you not think so clear as well afterwards too.

you can make a homophone's day in a few milla-seconds. Just how many of us have our selves been homophobic while on our way to being being out to our selves.
