Losing weight
#11
Your weight loss could be a number of reasons to it. Stress is only one of many factors as it turns out.

The thing to be careful about the weight loss rebound. Loosing weight too fast can cause some serious health issues as CCrox has pointed out.

Now contributing factors can be from range of foods, types of foods, more exercise even though your not noticing, remember any form of movement can be considered a exercise. Weather has been proven to be a cause of weight loss and gain, for obvious reasons. Moods can also influence weight. and i aint referring to being down in the dumps and not eating or comfort eating.

Study has shown that a person who feel confident and perky in personality terms can cause their bodys to reject metabolic restrictions and increase they afterburn rates. and ofc illness can cause us to loose weight rather rapidly, which i pray oh pray that its not because of illness.

Just watch your weight dude, a healthy study shows that a healthy rate of weight loss is normally around 2lbs a week, some people this is not the case because i can loose like 2lbs in like two days or so. But loosing weight too fast can lead to problems so just watch yourself, you dont want to accidentally send your body into shut down mode because they can have some seriously long term effects on you in the future

Actually you should see a doctor and discuss him/her this what is relatively extreme weight loss.

Weight loss can be due to any number of things. If your typical habit is to eat more when stressed, then something has changed. A physical to rule out the more nasty things is in order.

Further, you should consider getting vitamin and minerals blood tests to make certain you are not deficient in any of them.

Congrats on the weight loss.

I was 238 lbs three years ago, when I decided enough was enough and I joined a gym. Im now 160 lbs and have managed to maintain that pretty much for the past year through a combination of going to the gym a few days a week, and being more conscious of my calorie intake.

The only (unexpected) downside is that it can become expensive. All the new clothes shopping........:eyebrow-wiggle-smil

Congratulations on the weight loss and for cutting out potato chips and cookies -- that would make a big difference to your overall health. I would aim for small loses per week and to have some medical supervision as well. Perhaps you could go for a medical and then get your doctor to monitor you weekly. It will make you more accountable if you have to show up for a weekly weigh in. Also, track your BMI and as you lose weight, you can see how you are moving down the BMI chart to a healthy weight range. Keep up the good work............

congratulations, weight loss really improves self esteem.

no one in n america is dying of under weight.
The after a lot of weight loss the body will try to shut down to match the lower calorie intake. If your at that point try some simple cardio; running, cycling, tread mill at the gym. If your calorie intake is less than 2000 calories per day you will start to loose weight, write down for a few days what you eat and google up an averagte daily intake.

Ok so the eating less thing was blown straight to hell today! I've done nothing but eat since I got up this morning! I even made a big pot of this beef stroganoff like dish that my mom use to make for supper tonight. I ate like six or seven bowls of it! I'm so ashamed! *munches on his bowl of raisin bran*

Don't beat yourself up over one "comfort food" day - just call it a "me day" and enjoy it then get back on track tomorrow.
